We are a small, alternative provision based in a village just North of Norwich. We work hard to make sure that the Dragonfly Programme is an inclusive and joyful safe space where all young people are welcomed and accepted. We have a compassionate, relationship based approach in which we hope to increase young people's sense of belonging and community, develop their self esteem and confidence, and use the local environment to foster curiosity, bring a sense of enjoyment and improve social skills. We believe that, wherever possible, everyday should be a great day for the people in our community. We try to tailor each child's experience around their interests with a special focus on exploring the natural environment, helping young people to make connections to their history and sense of place, to appreciate the world around us and the effects and benefits of physical activity and healthy nutrition on their well being. We can offer a range of activities - hands on science, bushcraft, cooking, swimming, sports, keeping fit, cycling, arts and crafts, music - and field trips - fossil hunting, castles and churches, beaches, woodland walks, nature reserves, birdwatching, museums, local historical sites both in the countryside and the city. We believe that every young person, regardless of past traumas and difficulties, can find happiness and success in the right setting.
